Budapest, the heart of the Danube

Budapest is located in the north of Hungary. It is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Budapest is the capital city of Hungary. The city extends on the banks of the river Danube. The city is divided into two, Buda and Pest. To the west, over the hills, lies the old town of Buda. To the east of the city, they found Pest which will centralize the activities of economic, political and university.

The climate is continental. The summers are hot and winters are very cold. The international airport Budapest-Ferihegy welcomes flights from all major european cities. The flight from Paris to Budapest lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. The airport is located 25 kilometres from the city centre (30 minutes journey). The cost by taxi is 20 euros and 6 euros by bus. Also, you can take the train from terminal 1 which will bring you in the city center (station Nyugati).
It is easy to move around the city using public transport. Budapest has an extensive network comprising of buses, trams and the metro, which was built between 1893 and 1896, making it the oldest in continental Europe and the second in the world after London. In addition, the metro of Budapest was inscribed on the World Heritage list of the Unesco since 2002.
